Description

Spring Valley Farm is a privately owned airstrip with private properties adjoining both sides of the runway. The strip is for the use of the property owners, with no implied invitation or permission for use by others. All operations at Spring Valley Farm Airport are at user's responsibility and risk.

The runway at Spring Valley Farm is a grass strip with a down-slope to the East. It also has a dogleg in the approximate middle of the length of the runway. The runway is oriented approximately 6-24 degrees. The runway is not marked or lighted. Aircraft, vehicles or other obstacles on the runway are not visible from the runway ends. The field elevation, as listed on the Atlanta VFR Terminal Chart is 920 feet. This elevation is located near the West end of the runway.

Enter downwind at a 45 degree angle, at mid-field or sooner (i.e.: a longer downwind). Because of the sloping runway, the recommended pattern is to land to the West, take-off to the East. Naturally, the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) has the final authority in landing and take-off direction selection.

Noise Abatement Procedures

The airstrip is located next to, and near residential property. For that reason, the following are offered for your guidance:

Minimun Altitude Over the Runway 500 feet AGL-1500 Feet above Sea Level

Use 1900 feet MSL as the pattern altitude
     No touch-and-go operations
     No "low passes"
On departure, turn slightly to the South and climb to 1900 feet MSL before turning on course
Use the CTAF frequency to report your position and intentions

The traffic pattern rules established by this document are intended to satisfy the requirements of FAR 91.126 and AIM 4-3-4.
